Coffee Cravings: Creative Grounds Coffee Lounge

Hey friends, how has the first week of the new year been for you so far? I decided to switch it up a little bit today and come to one of my favorite coffee shops to do some blogging. And I am so glad I did because it's working and i'm feeling motivated. If you live in The Woodlands, or are just visiting, you must stop in Creative Grounds Coffee Lounge located off Gosling Rd. There are many reasons why I enjoy coming here, 1. They offer several coffees with cayenne pepper in it, and if there isn't a drink with cayenne, they will add it for you. 2. This place totally reminds me of a place I went to in Portland that I loved. If you know me, you know I love Portland...and small coffee shops. You would also know that I am not a fan of Starbucks, so anytime a small business coffee shop opens up, like Creative Grounds, I am thrilled. Creative Grounds has an industrial, urban, chic vibe and I dig all the raw materials they used to build with.  The atmosphere is calming and relaxing, making it the perfect place to get some work done. It's connected to the Harvest Natural Market, which I still have yet to wonder around in (think Whole Foods, but maybe not so much of a big corporate chain). There aren't many small coffee shops in The Woodlands, so you better believe I'll be visiting Creative Grounds as much as I can. The owners and staff are super friendly and they can make you a damn good coffee, or tea, or fresh juice drink. Don't forget to get you a punch card too, because you will be back!

On a completely different note, coffee isn't the only thing i'm currently craving...The last couple days I've discovered 2 new things that i'm currently craving, over-sized (men's) flannel button up shirts, and Vans sneakers. Seriously, how have I not been into a vans store before? I could have walked out of the store the other day with at least 5 pairs. I see myself starting a little collection...
I've been on the hunt for the perfect men's flannel. In the meantime, I've been rocking Mike's flannel I got for him for Christmas a couple years ago. However, and even though it's an "over-sized men's flannel", it's still rather large on me. I'm looking for one that I can wear with just about everything casual in my closet. I came across a couple but wanted to explore all my options before I settled. I'm sure this all seems silly because it's just a flannel right? I know, but I can't help that i'm particular. If you know where I can get a good flannel, leave a comment and let me know por favor!

Well we are headed north this weekend to General Sam's Off-road Park again, to go camping and ride the side by side. My stepson, Dillan, is also in town this weekend to join us and he is bringing his new Canam Outlander 4 wheeler. He should have a blast out there because this park is great for riding 4 wheelers. I'm not sure how I will survive though, it's going to be so, so cold. And I think I heard it was going to be even colder that we originally thought. So say a prayer that I stay warm and it's not a completely miserable trip for me, where i'm stuck inside the camper in front of the heater the whole time! How will you end the first week on the new year? Until next time...
