What Does Modishly Naturopathic Mean You Ask?

I get asked by the majority of people what the name Modishly Naturopathic means. There have only been a handful of people who actually did know the meaning. Once upon of time I would second guess myself and ask myself if I chose the right name for my blog. I know it's a mouthful for some, but honestly Modishly Naturopathic is very fitting for who I am as a person. I feel like it describes me rather accurately. I created MN in 2014, and finally settled on the name after scribbling down several other options. Other options that were either taken as usernames or even magazine titles, or options that just didn't feel like a long term fit for me. Modishly is an adverb and comes from the word Modish. I believe, and correct me if I am wrong, it's of British origin. From my understanding, when I created my blog, the word meant that someone was stylish, chic and/or on trend. Websters dictionary definition of Modish says :fashionable or stylish in a modern way. I have always considered my attire to be stylish and fashionable. I'm not a die hard fashion fanatic, but I love and appreciate a good design and style of garment.
Naturopathic is an adjective of the noun naturopathy or naturopath. A naturopath, again this was my understanding of the meaning when I created MN, is someone who practices holistic medicine and turns to herbs, minerals, vitamins, diet, and other natural approaches for healing. Websters dictionary definition says naturopathy is :the treatment of illness by using diet, herbs, excercise , etc. without using standard drugs or surgery. However, in my opinion, there's so much more to naturopathy than the Websters definition describes. My first job when I was 15 was at The Health Market in The Woodlands, Texas. I worked there for 3 1/2 years and loved every moment. I quickly took a liking to the holistic, natural methods of curing the body, mind and soul. I was absolutely thrilled that I could go to work everyday and learn something new about the body and ways to naturally heal and maintain it. What surprised me the most was I actually retained the information I was learning, which is why i'll always have a life long love for the naturopathic lifestyle. I still to this day turn to naturopathy before considering western medicine. Blessed by the good Lord, I haven't really been too sick to need western medicine as a primary option. Don't get me wrong, I've had a couple very minor surgeries, but only because it was the only option. As I entered into my adult life, several times, I have looked into getting my Doctrine of Naturopath, but I haven't ever committed as it does take about 2-3 years. It's still on my list day.
You learned a little bit more about me today. Now that I've clarified the meaning behind MN blog, hopefully you have a better understanding of why I gave my blog such a scary, long, difficult name. I find the name to be unique, and original. And, most importantly, authentic to who I am. Do you have a business or a blog? What made you choose the name you did for your business/blog?

Top/Bodysuit: Forever 21 similar |  Jeans: American Eagle old , similar | Jacket: Sooo old. This was a gift from Mike for our first Christmas together 5 years ago. The store in the mall was a boutique type store that is no longer there, nor do I remember the name of it. The label on the jacket is Naked Zebra.

P.S. Sorry for the blurry photos. After I got home and got my photos downloaded I realized all my photos were no bueno. I did my best to sharpen and edit. Sorry guys :(
