Ohhhh I am loving this weather we've been having the last couple of days here in The Woodlands, Texas. It's starting to feel more and more like Fall. I was just at Trader Joe's this morning and went on a pumpkin frenzy. I bought pumpkin chips (my favorite seasonal item there), pumpkin yogurt, pumpkin bagels, and pumpkin muffins. If your a pumpkin lover, sounds good doesn't it? It's also almost appropriate to wear sweaters and over the knee boots. I busted out my OTK boots and a sweater dress I've had for years, however never wore as an off the shoulder style, nor with these boots. Looking forward to wearing this look once Fall sets in. It's the perfect outfit to wear for date night or girl's night out. I rarely do either so i'll be wearing it the first chance I get, whatever the occasion may be. I remember buying this gray BCBG dress years ago. I took it home and washed it.... I shouldn't have washed it. It started off a solid gray, but after I made the mistake of washing/drying, it made permanent fuzzy's everywhere. The white fuzziness doesn't come off. It now looks multicolored, permanently. It's still wearable and I clearly still wear and have been wearing it. I love that the entire back is a zipper, except that it's very cold on your back when you first put the dress on. I was very pleased with my purchase when I ordered these OTK black boots. They were about the third pair of shoes I've ordered from, and they turned out to be exactly what I had wanted. Not to mention they were $39 with free shipping! Have you ever ordered from Just Fab? I must go enjoy as much of this weather as I can guys, it's too pretty. Are you enjoying some nice Fall weather also?

Hidden Treasures

I've come across some hidden treasures recently. One of them was where we stayed this weekend in Marble Falls. We stayed at Hidden Falls Adventure Park in our new camper and had a blast trail riding in the side by side. It was the perfect first place to break in both the camper and side by side. The Texas hill country is stunningly beautiful and we definitely plan on finding more gems to get away too. Adventure awaits!
Another little hidden treasure I found was this long blue jacket. I've had this thing  for about 12 years now. I went back to my mom's house I grew up in, in the later part of my youth, and took a few things from my closet. It's very interesting how my style has changed so much, but yet not really. There were a couple of things I brought home with me that I definitely plan on wearing. It's almost like going shopping for free. Feels good to re-cycle. I threw on this long jacket with a gray bodysuit and some cutoff blue jean shorts, and just because it's officially Fall I wore my comfortable fringe ankle booties. The boots made the outfit so Texas, which was fitting for the beauty of my surroundings in Marble Falls.
How was your weekend? Did you find any treasures? If you have any suggestions on places that are nice to visit in Texas, leave a comment and let me know.

Fancy Friday: Hope Under the Stars

The weekend is finally here and I am thrilled. I've been wanting to introduce a couple series to the blog, and now is better than ever for the first series of Fancy Friday! When I came up with the idea of this particular series it's because I was wearing so many fancy dresses. Oddly today's outfit is not a dress. I wore this outfit to the Hope Under the Stars event benefiting the Will Herndon Research Fund. We had such a wonderful evening with our host that we managed to not get one photo that evening. However, it was such a comfortable and cute outfit that I wanted to share it with you. First, the BCBG crop top was only $42! Since I don't have much silver jewelry I went over to Charming Charlie to style this look with two different necklaces. I was in search of a specific necklace look, inspired by a necklace I saw at Nordstrom. I loved this look, mainly because it was so comfortable. What do you think? Well friends, we are off on our little camper adventure to Marble Falls. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, check back with me next week!

It's Fall Y'all

I was very excited this morning when I realized it was the official first day of Fall. My favorite thing about Fall is the nice weather ahead and having fun layering outfits. I so wish we had more weather like the west coast does. However, sometimes it works out in our favor here in Texas having inconsistent weather. You don't have to completely winterize your closet. Having a few basic pieces that you can wear year around is key. Today's outfit is pretty basic. Come cooler weather, i'll throw on a fur vest over this light and airy button down shirt from Old Navy, maybe roll down the sleeves, and wear some ankle booties that look so cute with these baggy jeans. I love these jeans so much, except that they are kind of too big. Whatever, I wear them anyways. It makes a dressy top and shoes look casual and comfy.

I mentioned before that we just bought a camper, so all of my time has been consumed with getting the camper ready to go camping in. Of course me being me, I have to make it look pretty. Some minor interior adjustments, I think, are needed. New curtains, bedding, couch covers, the list goes on. I've knocked a few off the list these last couple of days. That's basically my excuse for being MIA on the blog. I want to be blogging 24/7 but in a practical sense, I can't. Once I get everything settled with the camper i'll be back at it full force. I'm excited for our first camping trip this weekend to Marble Falls, Texas! I absolutely love that area of the Hill Country and can't wait to get out in nature and hopefully disconnect a little. Do you have any plans this weekend your looking forward to? Until next time loves...

All Work....and Play

I was missing in action last week on the blog. This thing called life got in the way, per usual. However, it was a good time to work on my time management for the blog and reorganize and refocus my thoughts. No matter what anyone says, blogging is work. So even though I don't have a traditional 9-5 office job, i'm still working. An essential piece in my closet is a blazer. They are classy and timeless and you can wear a blazer forever, for a casual, professional, or formal event. I think everyone should have a few, in their  wardrobe, in different colors. It's still too stinkin' hot to even have it on outside, so for now I'll just be wearing it for photos and taking it right off. I am loving the grey, pink/blush, and black color palette going on in the world of fashion right now. I had to pair my always reliable grey jeans with this favorite blush fall top. Hope everyone has a wonderful week. Anyone watch the Emmy's last night? I saw some amazing gowns on the red carpet!
