A Special Birthday Dress

Hey guys! Although my morning started off crappy due to sad news in Dallas, I said my prayers and snapped out of it after a few hours. I refuse to let all the ugliness and hatred going on in the world stop me from celebrating. With that being said, my heart goes out to the city of Dallas and all the families of the fallen. As many have said, violence is never the answer. Two wrongs do not make a right. We need to call upon the correct leader to fix our country. That leader is not Barack Obama, it's not Donald Trump and it's not Hilary Clinton. God is the only answer. He is the ONLY one who can fix this. This isn't a racial war, this is a civil war and we should know better. Say your prayers for everyone. After all, we are the same, as in, we are all people. No matter your skin color, religious beliefs, and titles, we are all people. We the people should not be fighting one another in this beautiful, free country that we are so blessed to live in.
On a lighter note, i'm very excited for a couple reasons today; First, I woke up and opened a package from my sweet Grandma. One thing in the package was one of her " dressy" dresses "for special occasions" she wrote. I immediately fell in love with it and slipped it on right there in the kitchen. And it fit perfectly. I declared it my birthday dress right then, which worked out because I never found the right one. The second reason today is an exciting day is because it's my birthday! Today is the start of my last year in my 20's. Yay?!! Back to the dress. My grandmother, who is 82 years young, sent me a couple of her and my great-grandmothers dresses a few weeks back. I had discovered these dresses on my last visit to see her a couple years ago. Until recently, I remembered to ask her if I could have them. She sent 4 that I specifically asked for that are, to me, just timeless dresses. With some alterations and  minor adjustments, they will be classic pieces. I need to find a good seamstress or alterations establishment that won't charge me an arm and a leg. So in my birthday package this year she decided to mail me this birthday dress, without me knowing, and am so glad she did. I positively adore it AND it is super comfortable. Happy birthday to me! Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend. Come back and visit next week! God Bless!

P.S. Thank you to my crew of photographers; Mom, nephew - Ethan, and stepdaughter - Cristen ;)
